Changelog:

2024-09-07: Applied Digitalfear117's suggestions!

2024-09-09: Added kiai flashes and a new background.

2024-09-15: Applied [Kagamine Rin]'s suggestions - adjusted a pattern; and adjusted the ending. Additionally, I experimented by adding a custom hitsound.

2024-09-16: Added a missing note and fixed offset.

2024-09-18: Made audio lead-in time shorter, and made the ending less weird to hit.

Your offset should be 33. Your hitsound volume is too high. Might want to do like 40% up until the song gets more intense at around 40 seconds, then change to 60%. Most mania players don’t use hitsounds, but for the ones that do you should at least not have the volume super crazy loud. Your hitsound volume will need to drop lower starting around 2:50:702 again.

01:03:348 (63348|1,63390|0) - I can’t tell if this is mispatterned, or if it sounds weird due to your offset being wrong.

00:16:033 (16033.000000000007|1) - this hold note should end at 18:304 right?

I ended up completely forgetting about hitsounds due to not playing with them… I've tuned the volume and I hope it matches the song well enough throughout!

I tried representing the effect the song uses at that moment (I don't know what to call it… slow down effect?) and I think that was the best way to do it. Now that I've fixed the offset, let me know if it sounds any better or if you think I should change it!

While mapping it, I wasn't sure of where they should end, so I put the tail at a random spot. I've decided to match it to the start of the next one.

I recommend moving to an older client so that you can use the Audio Lead in Time feature. In modern osu! this is done automatically so the first note won't appear instantly as the map starts. If you don't want to go to an older client, you can manually edit the top of your .osu file with the following:

[General]
AudioFilename: 1-02 Work Life Imbalance.mp3
AudioLeadIn: 3000
PreviewTime: 85348
Countdown: 0
SampleSet: Soft
StackLeniency: 0.7
Mode: 3
LetterboxInBreaks: 0

Please change your source to: Dief
(Album) is not needed

I think you could add some kiai flare, this is not necessary, but will feel fun for your 3 lane ln's such as 01:28:366 (88366|0,88366|1,88366|3) - 01:30:699 (90699|0,90699|2,90699|3) - 01:33:366 (93366|0,93366|2,93366|3) - 01:36:033 (96033|2,96033|3,96033|0,96366|1) - 01:38:699 (98699|0,98699|2,98699|3) - 01:41:366 (101366|2,101366|0,101366|3) - 01:44:033 (104033|2,104033|0) - 01:46:699 (106699|0,106699|2,106699|3) - 01:49:366 (109366|3,109366|0,109366|1) - 01:52:033 (112033|0,112033|3,112033|2) - 01:54:699 (114699|0,114699|3,114699|1) - 01:57:366 (117366|3,117366|1,117366|0) - 02:00:033 (120033|1,120033|2,120033|3) - 02:02:699 (122699|1,122699|3,122699|2) - 02:05:366 (125366|3,125366|1,125366|0) - 02:08:033 (128033|0,128033|1,128033|2) - 02:10:699 (130699|0,130699|3,130699|1) - 02:13:366 (133366|1,133366|3,133366|2) - 02:16:033 (136033|0,136033|2,136033|3) - 02:18:699 (138699|0,138699|3,138699|1) - 02:21:366 (141366|0,141366|1,141366|3) - okay you get the point. The reason for adding this would be to create visual flare as you are playing, as the game will do the kiai flash during these which I think will feel very satisfying to hit. You can see what it would look like here: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1034421390012592171/1282539399137067088/Desktop_2024.09.08_-_23.13.14.02.mp4?ex=66dfb965&is=66de67e5&hm=157a76e653f3d0015bf1500a785918fef4f13377331e4a8a486ec77f75fcb5e3&

01:03:408 (63408|0) - perhaps make this start on the white tick 01:03:366 - i think it would be nicer that way it felt kinda weird playing it ( might be skill issue though)

03:12:033 - maybe ignore mapping after this part i feel its not really needed as the song itself sorta stop or represent it in hold notes so u dont really have to wait 2seconds before the next note appears!

U currently dont have tags u could atleast add the important ones such as: '' Instrumental'' and the genre of the song itself wich idk im bad w genres but i think u or digitalfear can figure that out!

about the Source: Dief is an Album and shouldnt be used as Source u can put it in tags though!

Unused File: "cover a.png" make sure to remove it
Would be nice if u could downscale the BG slightly as its kinda too big for what the maximum allows (Currently on 1800x1800) max 2560x1440

Both me and Kagamine Rin talked about the background resolution issue mentioned in Mapset Verifier. We both agreed its not a real issue. As the total pixels of your background image is less than the max.
1800 x 1800 is 3,240,000 pixels
2560 x 1440 is 3,686,400 pixels

Adjusted it in a way that (hopefully) makes it easier to read, tell me what you think!

It's not very common practice to end a map early in mania, I've replaced the notes with hold notes.

Added some tags, hopefully enough.

Ah, I also added a custom hitsound. Tell me if you think it fits or not.

Doesn't it seem weird that there is no tap note at 00:34:699?

Did you change the mp3? Because I feel like the offset is different now. Let me know what you think about 27 offset. If you decide to change it, you will need to move all the green lines back by 6ms

Custom hitsounds sound good to me

I am starting to feel like 3000 ms of lead in time is too much, why don't we go with 1700. Try this and let me know what you think. 3000 feels REALLY long in hindsight, sorry about that.

02:56:068 (176068|3) - Also this note sounds weird, I think they should just start at 02:56:027 like 02:56:027 (176027|2). You would need to change the rest of the notes like this. If you really feel strongly about emphasizing the sounds this way it's probably okay, but it feels a little sloppy to play imo.

If you do the previous change, you will want to change or remove 03:10:902 (190902|2,191443|2) - as well. Up to you. You should then also change the last end sliders too. I really don't feel like these sounds are delayed enough to warrant them being at different times.

I think I am ready to bubble after your replay
